MANY WALKS ON THE SAME PATH
March 2020
Two weeks in Madera Canyon in the mountains north of Big Bend. Finding comfort in the familiar, I hiked the same path every day for 14 days. It was an exceptionally wet spring in the mountains, and each day I focused on something new. 14 days — long enough for bright red penstemon to bloom on rocky hillsides, for yellow coneflowers to bloom and disappear.
